These are some amazing photos by Michael Wesely found here. Wesely pioneered new camera tech that allows him to take some incredibly long exposures. A star trail photo or a night photo takes about 30 minutes to allow enough light to reach the sensor. These photos took years. YEARS! You can see the trails of light on the horizon in the first photo. Those are the different paths the sun took based on the tilt of the earth's axis and the seasons. SO COOL! Click here for more.

This photo series won an award for photographer Carsten Peter. Photographing rocks is fun because it is really hard to understand scale when viewing rocks. They are fractal-like; as you get closer, patterns and colors repeat. Peter uses humans and their headlamps to add a sense of scale to these massive caves.
